Recently, the FCC has been granting modifications to LPFM licensees and permittees to permit a move of over 5.6 km (3.5 miles).
In the cases that were accepted by the FCC, there must be a "compelling" reason to make the move.
REC has the expertise to determine whether your requested move could potentially be allowed by the FCC. It is important to remember that a waiver of the rules requires the applicant to be able to clear a "high hurdle" and there is never a guarantee that the FCC will grant a waiver.
REC Broadcast Services does have a policy on moves of over 5.6 km that if the FCC denies the waiver and if you are able to find another site that would qualify for a minor move, REC will prepare the exhibits for that location and file them at no additional charge. There are no refunds as a result of an FCC dismissal.
Please contact REC at 1-844-REC-LPFM so we can work together to determine whether your proposed move may be a good candidate for a waiver request.
